Instructions

The Pinkie Book Exchange
If you are Pinkie who has a book that you would like to exchange with another Pinkie, please start a discussion with your books title in the discussion topic space. In the body of the discussion, include the author and a brief description of what the book is about. You might even want to write a little something about how the book influenced you and your life.
All Pinkies are personally responsible for paying the shipping costs for their novels. In a sense, it will come back to you when you receive another Pinkies book. If a Pinkie is interested in receiving your book, home addresses should be exchanged in messages to be kept private. (You must 'add' each other as friends to be able to message.)
If you partake in the book exchange any books your receive from other Pinkies should kept in the circle. Once you are done reading it, please post it on the discussion forum for the next Pinkie to inherit.
If you have shipped your posted book, please delete the discussion containing the title and book description to lesson confusion of whether your book is available or not.

The Pinkie Book Club
If you are member of this group at the first of each month you will be sent an email with the book of choice. We will start discussions on the book 2 weeks into the month on the beginning chapters. The discussions will be held in this group and you will also receive a link in the message to that particular discussion. If you have a book you would like to suggest of our book club feel free to send me a message on this site.

The Owning Pink Book Store
Looking for a good read? Browse some Pinkie favorites at the Owning Pink Book Store. And recommend your own favorites to others! (A portion of all sales at the book store will help support Owning Pink.)

Are You A Published Author?
If you are an author and have work published feel free to put one of your books up on the Pinkie Exchange. We would love to have our Pinkies work recognized among the community. Also, let us know and we'll put it in our Book Store!

PLEASE NOTE:
There is a lot going on in this narrow space, so please post accordingly. This will be fun and easy to interact with if we post in the right places. If you have any questions or are confused about where to do what, please do not hesitate to ask me- just send me a message. I look forward to reading with you Pinkies!

Peri- I have a hard time keeping this community active because it requires a lot of my attention and time (that I don't necessarily have.) Feel free to take this over and host a book a month or whatever you see fit!

HI Lissa

For light plane reading, anything by Ayelet Waldman (Michael Chabon's wife) is great...she has written Bad Mother and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits as well as the Mommy tract mystery series...very insightful about relationships and great characters, humor and irony as well as interesting plots. Also fun for a break from "serious" reading. I just finished Sarah's Key, incredible but in no way "light". And really amazing is Anne Morrow Lindburgh's Gift from the Sea...still relevant 60 years later. And for examining the ethical issues of medicine in a high tech world, A Life worth Living by Robert Martensen is terrific!

Lissa, do you still have my journey of the slim soul?

I'm currently into and really enjoying "Suffering is Optional" by Cheri Huber. I really like her writing style - very accessible - and plan to read everything else by her afterwards. It's not a light read, maybe not a plane flight book. If you're looking for light heartwarming fiction I really enjoyed "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society."

Kelly, I'm reading Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life by Gregg Levoy. I'm absolutely devouring it. It's SOOO good! And if you're in the mood for fiction, I LOVE Feast of Love by Charles Baxter.

I need a next book for my 6 hr NY flight. Anyone have any must-reads?
I've heard Women Food and God is the next must read. Anyone read it? Other suggestions?
